Plans change and Gulf weather does too. Here’s exactly what happens if your night doesn’t go as planned.
How booking works
- Book. Choose your fire, your night and your beach access on our booking page.
- Secure it. A 50% deposit on Stripe’s secure checkout holds your night. We never see your card number.
- Balance. The other 50% is charged to the same card two weeks before your night, and we email you a heads-up first. If your bonfire is within two weeks, the full amount is paid when you book.
- Enjoy. We set up one hour before sunset and pack everything out after.
Weather
If storms, high wind or unsafe conditions mean we can’t safely light your fire, you choose: move to another open night at no charge, or get a full refund of everything you’ve paid except the $105 fire permit. That permit is already paid to the county and can’t be refunded, so that’s the only amount you lose. We make the weather call by 2:00 PM on the day of your bonfire and text you either way. If a passing shower is the only problem, we may suggest shifting your start time instead.
Burn bans and permit cancellations
If Walton County or the South Walton Fire District cancels beach bonfires for your night, you can reschedule at no charge or get a full refund, permit included. Walton County’s 2026 burn ban ordinance exempts permitted propane-only beach fires, which is one reason we only use propane, but the fire district has the final say.
Sea turtle nests
Fires must stay at least 200 feet from any marked sea turtle nest. If a new nest blocks your beach access, we’ll move you to the nearest open access. If no access works, you can reschedule or get a full refund except the $105 fire permit.
If you need to cancel
Call or email us as early as you can, and we’ll always try to move your night first.
- More than 48 hours before your bonfire: a full refund of everything you’ve paid minus the $105 fire permit only if we’ve already bought it.
- Within 48 hours of your bonfire: a 50% refund of what you’ve paid. By then your permit is bought and your night is held for you.
- Moving your date instead: with at least 7 days’ notice, you can move your bonfire once to another open night within 12 months at no charge.
Weather, burn ban and sea turtle cancellations follow the more generous rules above, not these.
Group size
Packages fit 2, 8 or 16 guests, and you can add guests for $20 per person. A bonfire permit covers fewer than 30 people. Groups of 30 or more need a Walton County special event permit, so contact us early and we’ll help arrange it.
On the night
- One of our hosts stays with the fire all night, as the fire district requires, so your group can relax.
- No glass containers on the beach.
- Keep music at a level that can’t be heard 75 feet away.
- Please don’t move, adjust or refuel the fire unit. Text us and we’ll help.
- We may put the fire out early if conditions turn unsafe or the beach rules are broken.
