FAQ

30A beach bonfire questions, answered

How much does a beach bonfire cost on 30A?

Most 30A beach bonfire companies charge about $450 to $800 for 6 to 20 guests. Ours start at $499 for two and $599 for up to six, with a 2-hour fire session, chairs, the permit, setup and pack-up included.

How does a bonfire on the beach work on 30A?

A bonfire on the beach on 30A needs a county fire permit and a beach access that allows fires. We handle both, set up an hour before sunset, stay with the fire the whole time, and pack everything up after you leave.

What makes your bonfire smokeless?

We burn real wood, but in a smokeless fire pit instead of an open bonfire. Air pulled through the pit’s double steel walls feeds a second burn at the top of the fire, which burns off most of the smoke before it reaches you. Once the fire is going you get the crackle, warmth and glow of a wood fire with very little smoke, so you can head to dinner afterward without your hair and clothes smelling like a campfire.

Does a beach bonfire leave ash on the sand?

An open bonfire can. Years of wood fires built right on the sand have left gray ash in spots along 30A. Our fire burns in a raised steel pit, so the ash stays inside it. We put it out with water and carry every bit off the beach, so the sand stays sugar white for the families and sea life that come after you.

Are chairs included, and do extra guests cost more for chairs?

Yes. Every package includes a chair for each guest it covers, so there is never a separate chair fee, and each extra guest you add for $25 comes with their own chair too. Sunset for Two comes with wicker lounge chairs and a styled table, and any group can upgrade the whole circle to both for $25 per guest.

Do you need a permit for a beach bonfire in Walton County?

Yes. Every beach bonfire in Walton County needs a South Walton Fire District permit for that night: $105 for propane and $157 for wood in 2026. We get the permit for you.

Can you have a bonfire on the beach in Florida?

It depends on the county. On 30A and across South Walton, beach fires are allowed with a South Walton Fire District permit for that night, kept at least 200 feet from any marked sea turtle nest. Our fires burn clean, untreated firewood in a raised stainless steel fire pit, and we carry the ashes off the beach.

Can you have a bonfire during sea turtle season?

Yes. Turtle season runs May through October, and fires must stay clear of marked nests. From May through October we keep our table lighting low and amber, as the county asks. If a nest blocks your access, we move you or refund everything except the $105 fire permit.

What time does a beach bonfire start?

We set up one hour before sunset so your fire is glowing when you arrive. Fire sessions run 2 hours for two or six guests and 3 hours for groups of 12. Everything is packed up and off the beach by the county curfew: midnight from March through October, and 11 PM from November through February. You can add extra hours when you book, up to that curfew.

How many people can come to a beach bonfire?

Our packages fit 2, 6 or 12 guests, and you can add more for $25 per person, chair included, when you book. Groups of 30 or more need a Walton County special event permit, which we can help arrange.

What happens if it rains or there is a burn ban?

We make the weather call by 2:00 PM on your bonfire day and text you either way. If storms, high wind or unsafe conditions stop us, you can move to another open night at no charge or get a full refund except the $105 fire permit, which is already paid to the county. If Walton County or the South Walton Fire District cancels beach fires for your night, you can reschedule at no charge or get a full refund, permit included. Our weather and refund policies have the full details.

Which beaches do you serve?

Public beach access points along Scenic 30A and South Walton, from Dune Allen and Santa Rosa Beach to Seaside, Inlet Beach and Rosemary Beach. You pick the access closest to your rental when you book.

Do we need to bring anything?

Just your group. We bring the fire, chairs and your name board, and your host tends the fire, with a tagged 5 lb fire extinguisher on hand, and cleans up after you leave. Glass is not allowed on Walton County beaches, so bring drinks in cans or plastic cups.

Can we bring our own drinks?

Yes. Walton County beaches are public places, and guests 21 and over can enjoy drinks on the sand, as long as nothing is in glass. Bring cans or plastic cups, keep it relaxed, and take everything with you when you go. Rules can tighten around spring break, so we’ll let you know if anything changes for your night.

Can you plan food and drinks for a special occasion?

Yes. For proposals, birthdays, anniversaries and other special nights, we can help plan food and beverages and have them set out before you arrive. Tell us what you have in mind when you book, and we’ll work out the details with you.
